Another webtoon adaptation drama 'Divorce Attorney Shin' has arrived. It is airing every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023, and can be seen on OTT TVing[mfn]TVing: South Korea's Streaming platform[/mfn] and Netflix. It is consisting of 12 episodes drama. The original work is a webtoon of the same name by Kang Tae-gyeong, which was serialized on Kakao Webtoon. Directed by Lee Jae-hoon, who was in charge of directing JTBC Run On, and the script was written by Yoo Young-ah, who wrote the script for JTBC Thirty and Nine. The ratings got off to a good start with episode 1, which aired on March 4, recording 7.2% nationwide according to Nielsen Korea.

The first impression about the show is that Cho Seung-woo, who plays the title role, leads the drama overall. The character of Shin Sung-han is a lawyer who is competent as a lawyer but is sometimes expressed as a person who is comical and enjoys a free single life. In the original webtoon, from the first episode, Shin appears as a character who was abandoned by his mother as a child, but in the first episode of the drama, the past is still unresolved. We expect to see his hidden story in earnest in episode two.

Lee Seo-jin(Han Hye-jin) is a guilty because she provides cause about divorce matter, but she has a corner where she believes even though she knows that the affair is unfavorable to the trial. It is because her husband had serious delusions of infidelity. This fact makes it difficult to guess the direction of the trial and at the same time is a factor that doubles the interest in the story.

The main part of the drama is around defending the divorce case. The drama seems to fill the rest of the show with Shin's personal story about why he specialize divorce case and the characters around Shin's lawyer's office. In the first episode, Jang of Shin Sung-han's lawyer's office steals the show with typical, clichéd humor.

At the end of episode 1, Seo-Jin's son Hyun-Woo had a seizure due to stress unfortunately after having an interview with Shin. Seo-jin calls Sung-han in the hospital wanting to give up her divorce mediation. But Sung-han encourages her that they will win her trial, not her mediation. Overall, Divorce Attorney Shin is a drama with the concept that a divorce lawyer with scars heals his past through his work. Cho Seung-woo's acting gave the drama a sense of weight. Recommended if you are a fan of Cho Seung-woo.
