'Mayor of Kingstown' Season 2 Ep. 1 Review: Mike Pulled Back into Action Amidst Chaos

 'Mayor' Mike, who has successfully solved the prison riot that reminds me of Prison Break in season 1, is enjoying his time in his borrowed boat Bad Optic with Iris, whom he saved. However, Kingstown, which does not easily allow even Mike's gap for rest, is not well today.

Amid hundreds of casualties during the prison riot, with the leaders of each faction dead, a power vacuum emerges in the prison and a state of chaos ensues. Also, in the middle of a city street, a murder case suspected of being a gang using pit bulls occurs, and detective Ian desperately needs Mike's help to solve the case.

Meanwhile, when the police raid Crips' mob den, Bunny enlists Mike's help. It's time for the 'Mayor of Kingstown' to go to work again. Detective Kyle, who moved out after a prison riot, is watching contraband on Lake Michigan. Despite being offered a place in the FBI protection program, Iris spurned it and instead returned to Mike's office, insisting that she would be there. Her performance as a typical nuisance character in season 2 is expected. What will happen to Mike as he takes on the burden once again? Milo, who managed to escape from prison by taking advantage of the riot, is still a mystery.

Season 2 has a similar atmosphere to season 1, but with Bernie's hideout now on the rooftop. Now, how many times do we have to see Mike go up to the roof to meet Bernie? In Season 1, there was a feeling that the pattern of the scene where the two meet was repeated thanks to Bunny's limited activity radius, but I'm curious to see how it will be directed in Season 2. Anyway, it's still episode 1, but in terms of fun, I still have expectations for season 2.
